As far as I know the only way you get the woodgrain on the VRX is if you buy the VRx EX series which is quite a bit more money than the regular VRx....or you buy an old VRx or HR100

Audison makes a very high end product,
there is a very big difference in a cheep amp compated to high end amp, if you want to spend very little buy a pyramid. But if you want something with crisp clean power then buy

same here, who cars where the amp comes from, its the end product that matters, not the place where they are made... who cares really?

Audison amps sound very very nice from the ones I've heard. PEI330 can also attest to this as that's what he runs.

As for price, that's always an issue with everyone about everything. Someone always complains about what it costs. I'd bet even if the sh!t was free, someone woudl eventually complain that it's costs to much to install or something stupid like that. [img]graemlins/2xblown.gif[/img]

i think it would be a good choice if you had a money tree in your back yard. but i don't, i have to work for my money and pay the bills before buying the equipment. so no audison for dustin. :(

Thanks for this great discussion. I've been scouring the net looking for info on Audison amps.

Right now I'm trying to shrink the size of my system but increase SQL. I have the option of buying a JL 500/1 from Egay for about $450, or an audison Lrx 400.1 for $699+GST+PST.

I'd be willing to pay a bit more if it was worth it. Also FYI, I'm going to use it to power a 10W6V2 in a sealed enclosure although I am entertaining the possibility of a ported enclosure.

All Rockford Fosgate amplifiers including the Punch series are manufactured in Arizona.

The Punch P1 and P2 subs are manufactured 'off-shore'. The coaxes and seperates are manufactured 'off-shore.

Thee P3, T1, T2 subs are manufactured in Michigan.

I agree with others, Audison is a great product!

The LRx400.1 I have had some major issues with in it's ability to dissipate heat. Even with the add on cooling fans, for someone wanting to listen to their system at a respectable level for a good amount of time, that might not be the best amp for the situation. We reworked an entire system due to this problem, ended up going to Xtant next and settled on Eclipse in the end.

^^No such Prob with the VRX's ^^^ ...I run my VRX 1.500 @ 1.5 ohms mono and it slams relentlessly.

Have some other VRX as well and I am very pleased with the sound, provided you make sure your electrical system is up to it. But assuming it is, the sound is effortless, clear and without artifacts, in short just the music the way it was intended.

Now there are other amps which may (tube models) sound nice and cost more, but I am enjoying the pure sound, reliability and sheer ability to slam for long periods of time without breaking a sweat.

It's hard to get a true demonstration of any amps sonics(if there are even any audible differences), because when they are demonstrated they're usually paired with speakers and head units. In the case of Audison, they're usually paired(everywhere I've heard them) with Focal speakers and a very high end deck(usually a 24 bit D/A or dvd unit). How can someone determine whether it's the amp that sounds better or the speakers or the deck. It's not possible with a set up like that, and unless you own a store or you are a really good customer, it's unlikely that they will do a double blind test for you to compare the amps.
