I need an amp to power 2 sets of Alpine type-X 6.5" components (SPX-177R). I can get the LRX for $650 or the PDX for $450. If any one has used either of these amps let me know what you think. I'm really just wondering if the LRX is worth the extra $200.

I have Audison Amps in my summer car and really like them. I have never owned an Alpine amp so I'm not sure what to expect.

The rest of the system consists of:

Alpine IDA-X001 headunit
Alpine SPX-177R fronts and rears
Audison LRX 1.400 amp
JL 10W6 pro wedge

 

I vote for the Audison

 

Both are great amps..... I would go Audison if I had to make the choice

 

If money is kind of tight, go with the Alpine.
Both amps are great, definitely worth considering.

 

Both are great amps but that price on the Alpine appears to be a hella good score. I would buy the Alpine.

 

Money is starting to get tight. I just bought all the other equipment so it's adding up. I would prefer the LRX but the $200 savings on the Alpine isn't something I want to ignore. I don't plan on tweaking the settings on the amp all that much. Once it's all installed and sounding good I probably won't touch it again for a while.

I can afford both but if I'm not going to notice an audible difference between the 2 amps I'd rather save the money.

 

In that case.. I would go with the Alpine.. You're probably not going to notice the difference, and that Alpine will put out a lot of nice power..
