Auto Sound Design vs. Audio Heaven

I went to get quotes for a simple component install from each place. ASD told me it will cost maybe upto $180 since it will take 2-3 hours to make a baffle and fit it AND still it might not work because the speakers might be too big for me civic.

I went to Audio Heaven the owner tells me $70 RIGHT away, he dosent mention anything about fit, when i asked, he said yup i will make the baffle and it will fit.

So now i have a decision to make, take the cheap way OR go with ASD which i have had many good transactions with in the past 2 years.

Anyone have experiences they would like to share with me?

if you feel your getting dicked around why not go somewhere else? try the on-site vendors. i had a alarm put in by selective sound, did an excellent job at a great price. (75 bucks cheaper than a couple others around mississauga).

drop buy or call, and ask for davis! they do pro installs so i figure they can do a set of components no prob.

dude, check on this forum for the ON-SITE-VENDORS. selective sound is one of them. other than that you`re gonna have to do a little work.

im confused here. ASD tells you more than twice the price and it still might not work while Audio Heaven tells you a much lower price and tell you that it will work and you are still pondering? Go to Audio Heaven.

if that was only it....

only time i went to audio heaven they broke my rca infront of me and made me pay for it and on top of that they told me my amp was ****ed after 30 min of trying to find the problem...even after i tried to tell them it might be the deck, they were adament it wasent and didnt even look into it at all.

i went to auto sound design and as soon as i told him the simptums of the problem he told me it was the deck and did a quick test and i was in and out with my new deck in 1 hr flat...not to mention other previous installs they did with no problem..

This time i wasnt sure if they were over charging and bsing me, so i asked if anyone has had their components installed by either shop.

why not buy pre-fab baffles, and install the components yourself?

should take about an hour.

Try Selective Sound.

Davis has built many competition Civics that are currently in the show scene, if he cant get what you want done (which i doubt) he will at least point you in the right direction.

did it occur to you that they just sold you a new deck. they could suggest warranty repair or try to fix the problem without selling u a new unit. i guess they know you spend the $$$ so why not just sell you a new unit all together.

i highly doubt guys at audio heaven would break something themselves and make you pay for it. i have had maybe 10-15 installs done there of all kinds of products and services, from alarms, to decks to tints on all of my cars, my gf's cars and all my friends cars........never was there a problem that was not solved or an issue taken care of.

ASD is a very nice shop as well, i've had a number of transactions with them, good people and know their stuff. But have a tendancy to over charge for stuff and if you dont now wtf u are talking about they will juice you for your money (cant blame them, they got to make a living).

well yea i had researched it before, i am not the type to buy something like that. it was the preouts and it would have been too much of a hassle to try to fix the 150$ deck....so i bought a new one right there since they found the problem for me and second since i was without a system for 1 month during the spring as was dying. looool

Now i am sure you had good installs done by audio heaven but believe me that they did break my rca's, this chinese guy who works there pulled the deck out, disconnected the rcas and while they were hanging he was ttrying to pull them to get them more out and he broke them....and at the end i got the bill, i wasent in the mood to argue since i was late to meet someone.
