The pricing on the Digital Designs have gone way down in the last year. I would suggest 2 2512's in a ported box with that amp. You should be able to hit between 146 to 150 depending on how you aim the subs in your ride.
In comparison, the Pioneers would only get you to high 130's.

DD are nice subs and are very good for competing. 2 12s will get you higher then high 30s, i was doing 141 with one twelve premier on 400 watts in a trunk.

^i agree, a guy on JCO hit 143.X wiht 2 pioneers and a 1500 watt pioneer amp and the subs where a lower model(around 4-500rms each)..he ended up winning 1st place at the JCO bash for teh sound comp

So if i have the right box and get it all tuned right im good to go ?

danyman 07-19-2008 05:11 PM

i know its not the right thread for this but im wondering since i havnt whent to a comp yet how the hell does it work.. is it only burping noise for high spl or some of it use music?? my amp is rated "600watts rms 1ohm" and i have 2 12" in a complete stock car ....

what class would i compete in if i ever wanted to??? and burping aint really my thing so it would be with music

just curious

King-Kong 07-19-2008 06:16 PM

I dont know much either but all i know is that most of the Comps dont allow Bass test cds lol

LOWTONEZ 07-19-2008 08:13 PM

It all depends on the organiztion and class. Db drag has bass race which is 30 seconds of continuous music, and you try to aim for the highest possible decibels in your bracket, ex 130-139.9 and who ever has the highest, in this case 139.9 wins if you overshoot you lose, thats all about control, then ther are just classes that run solely on tone bursts and stipulations on class requirements, such as amount of subs, amps, batteries amperage, vehicle mods. Then something like Cspl has amature classes, where you play music and try to get the highest possible db with the required equipment, and then expert classes is tone bursts.

danyman 07-19-2008 08:17 PM

i guess db drag would be up my alley and cspl amature. would like to try it to see how it is

hey no one does comps near sudbury????

LOWTONEZ 07-19-2008 09:18 PM

No shops are interested in sudbury, even though they would be large local shows. The closest comp is in north bay which will be on August 10th.
