Question

Anyone know if it's possible to just switch the computers on a avic-n1 to a avic-n2 or do the screens have to be changed as well?

Although I can't confirm this 100%, they should be interchangeable. I've been told the only difference is the DVD software.

Ahh ok. BTW i gotta ask you something

I bought the "CD-IB100" iPod adapter with a 20GB iPod, however it doesn't show any songs. I now know it's because Avic-N1 isn't "ipod" ready. Is Avic-N2? The software upgrade or is there anything I can do for my Avic-N1?

I'm basically looking just for a list of songs like you would see when you put a MP3 CD in.

Thanks

Hi Miluni,

The AVIC-N1 DEFINITELY IS iPod compatible. If you're not seeing the track titles, you have to change the display. Go into "A.MENU", touch "FUNCTION" & then "SEND" in "FUNCTION 3". This will change the display from track, album, artist, etc. If you keep touching "SEND" you can make the display scroll.

Let me know how it works out for you.

Where can I find other commands / functions like this? I'm gonna go try it out right now and let you know how it went.

Hmm ok. Well I went though all the functions and found this.

Key 1-6: Do nothing
Function 1: Pause ON / Pause OFF
Function 2: RPT TRK / RPT ALL
Function 3: Shows either "iPod0001" / Song name

That's all I can figure out. Is there a way to make it list the songs on the iPod like you can list and see the songs on a MP3 cd and then just scroll down and select a song?

When i click Function 3 enough times it will show me the first 6 or 7 characters in the menu but that's about it.

Thanks,
Milun

The display only shows eight characters at a time. To make the title scroll, keep touching "SEND".

As the AVIC-N1 was produced previously to the iPod adapter, that's the way the functionality of the iPod works. It's not the same as an MP3 on CD-R or CD-R/W as the iPod adapter uses the IP-Bus input & functions much like a CD changer does.

If I upgrade to a avic-n2 or a avic-d2 would it show the list like it would on a MP3?

On the AVIC-N2, I would have to say no as it's pretty much identical to the AVIC-N1 (except for software).

As far as the AVIC-D1 goes, it hasn't arrived in Canada yet so we aren't aware of the functionality. I would think that it would be similar to the AVIC-N1 though.
