Question

Since the Eclipse - Future Shop deal was made last week, where does that leave A&B Sound in mobile electronics.

Last year, Pioneer & Panasonic pulled out. Then Kenwood went back in (after being dropped the year before) & they acquired Eclipse. Then Alpine went into Visions. Evidently Panasonic is back in.

Did A&B Sound not perform with Eclipse or is Eclipse uncertain about A&B's future in mobile electronics? Are other companies to follow?

Alpine is sold at Best Buy in the USA so is it long before Canada follows? Is Alpine having the same concerns about A&B & is covering themselves with Visions & possibly Best Buy?

The landscape in mobile electronics has been very volatile the last year or so & I'm wondering when this trend will end?

If there's any A&B employees on this forum, what has the company told you the plans are in mobile electronics? Are the suppliers remaining the same? Less of them? More of them?

From the mouth of the previous Alpine Canada president (Alex) "we have over 640 of you independant dealers across Canada, we do NOT need anymore, and I promise you, Alpine will NEVER be in a chain store", that was in 1985-6 , Alpine/Luxman dealer conferance in Toronto.
Things change .
I've learned to take "promises" like that with a grain of salt, about the size of the rock of Gibraltar.
