is it me or does this happen to others as well you are trying to sell items you work out a price with someone they tell you they will send you money and nothing comes you email them no response. I have been trying to sell some items in the fs section of this forum as well as others and I had at one point sold 6 itmes. I thought great. But only three of the deals ever went through. and the worse part is the deals that were easy went great the deals that the want to barder down to the dollar they never went through it as I will send the money and no response.
WOULD IT KILL PEOPLE TO SAY I CHANGED MY MIND?

I disagree. My profession is sales and I deal with many types of people on a daily basis. I find that customers who negotiate tend to know what they want, know the fair market value of a product and are ready to purchase it if the price is right. There are exceptions to this rule, but this seems to be a good generalization to make. When a person ventures into a store, they are either a tire kicker or a buyer with a specific need. Treat both with the same level of respect, inform them of their options and you will increase sales.

I can think of one member in particular that is notorious for saying he will buy something and to hold it for him, only to never hear from him again. Myself and two well respected members on this board have been screwed by him.

I honestly believe that there are a lot of people that do not understand the value of things. Here's a few thoughts to consider:

Just because it's "used" doesn't mean it's free.
People are in business to make money so they can put food on the table or beer in the fridge. That means they have to make something on whatever they are selling or what's the point?!?!?!?
A good installation costs money and takes time......... and is worth the money and time it takes.
Someone has to pay for materials as they don't magically appear.
Paypal may roast you for fees, but it's a very fast way to get a financial commitment. That's why I love it.
It's never sold until the money is in hand...... therefore the first one to get money in my hand gets the thing that was for sale. If you're late, I will return your funds. Good policy to follow I think. Don't take down the ad until it's really sold and make sure that the potential buyers understand your terms.

I work at an auto parts counter and get sort of the same run around myself.Except in my case,I can't barter the price down...I can price match the competition, but thats about it.

I have had more than one case where a customer comes in and nags at me enough to get the price down,I get the manager in there...he gives the okeedokee..does his thing on the computer...customer says"I just gotta go get some money from the car"...and never comes back...what a frickin waste of my time!!

I agree that a person should say"I've change my mind"..sure maybe frustrating, but at least the seller knows where he/she stands.

Just my 2 cents..
