bass too low???...

Seems lame im sure but i listen to very fast heavy metal, i have 2 of JL 12w3v3 sealed will 1.1 cubes each, powered by a PG xenon 600.1 tested at 789w...
JL XR653 components powered by a PG xenon 200.4.

i love the front stage sound and loudness.
problem is the subs sound amazing, but arent loud enough...or the bass is too low i dunno, with bass up it's loud but the sound is unrealistic to the music i listen to, with rap in it sounds great, very low....pretty much what i expected i guess....

question is, do i need more power to the subs?
would i be better off with two 10W7's and a bigger amp?
...adding two 8W7's to cover the midbass im looking for??

.....money isnt the issue really, just sick of buying and not being totally happy.

deck is premier 880prs and have been playing with settings forever it seems...
just not enough power

suggestions are greatly appreciated.

P.S im not brand loyal i just really like the sound of JL's and am easily convinced to try something else if thats the suggestion...thanx for your time.

Some of it might because of the 12inch, the 10inch can keep a faster cleaner beat

I have an older 10w3 (back when w4 was the best JL made) and it is awesome for just about any type of music. It keeps up with the techno, rap, etc. my buddy has 2 12" audiobahns and my sub was fairing very nicely to it considering there is 1 10 vs 2 12s.

size matters lol... a 10 can hit a higer frequency the a 15 can hit just becasue the sheer displacement is to great for the driver and limits its speed.
thats a faq.
therefore being able to keep up with music thats 35 hz up to ... what idn lol

actually the driver size doesnt matter. people who say 10's sound 'tighter' than 12's dont know wtf they are saying. its all in the tuning, not the driver size.

it is about tuning but are you saying that a 15 can keep the exact same beat as a 10?

haha your dd sub just vibrates the hell out of everything dont it? lol

Hehe. Depends on how its tuned! (yet again) right now its in a huge ported enclosure so yeah it beats the hell out of everything but when its in a smaller box with different port tuning, its hella tight.

Tuning of a sub has everything to do with the sound though. So are we comparing a 10" and 15" in the exact same enclosure? Of course they will sound differently if they aren't tuned properly. Right now, my 15 wouldn't keep up with a 10 but its in a 4.25 cu ft box.
