Best 15" sub for $400

I'm looking for a new 15" sub to run off my Pioneer PRS-D3000SPL amplifier ( 1000 w/rms x 1 @ 2ohms ) I've been looking at the Atomic Apocalypse, Ascendant Audio Havoc. Keeping in mind I don't want straight out spl like L7's, a sub with decent sq and tons of spl. Thanks.

My vote would definetely go to either dd 3515 or re sx15. I haven't heard the 3515 but ive only heard good things, and I used to have a sx15 before my current setup. My kickers are louder, but my sx packed a lot of punch and dug pretty deep.

Is an SX 1000 w/rms? How loud should they get with a proper install and that sorta jazz? R they better than atomic apocalypses?

DD is superb...just so you know ..that 9515 will take up to abt 2000rms easy...but the key word here is "used" because..to pick up one of those brand new might burn a hole in your pocket..$1000 MSRP...but you won't be disappointed with the sub...the 3515 series MSRP of abt $600...1000rms easy...but i don't think that i've ever regretted buying any DD sub...they even surprise me....

Yeah i've looked at a couple of DD subs, just that the price was way out of my range, but i've only heard awesome things about them. That's why I felt an atomic apocalypse or other would be a good alternative to my current pioneer sub.

i haven't had any personal experiences with atomic so i wouldn't know...but if you could get a DD used..at a good price...it would be a deal to take advantage of...

Here's one for you guys......
Save the money,go and get yourself a 9500 from MTX.
That would be the sub.
The only reason they all say DD is because they want you to buy theirs.
NoONE wants to sell there 9500's.
Sorry guys just sick of hearing the HYPE on DD,And at the same time EVERYONE wants theirs sold.
Just the way I see it,And by NO means am I going after the brand or any owners.
Nore am I trying to start a fight.....
