Best bang-for-buck Double-DIN NAV

Hi All,

I drive a 2001 Pathfinder which currently has a stock Bose system. It's got a tape-deck/tuner in one slot, and a 6 disk changer below it.

I'm planning a full system upgrade, but I'd like to start with the headunit. I definitly want to put in a screen, but I'm thinking I might go the extra mile and integrate navigation at the same time. Any suggestions? Looking bang-for-buck - I'd like to keep it around $1000 if possible.

A few things I want for sure are at least a 6.5" screen, double-DIN, MP3-DVD, 3 sets of hi-voltage preouts, touch screen, and I want to be able to listen to tunes while using the nav. I've looked around a bit, I know some solutions have hard-drives (which I think is great, I know Clarion and the top Pioneer), some have two slots (one for tunes, one for nav, lower end Pioneer)... Anyone have experience or preference? How does Alpine do theirs?

Also... one last question (i swear!), is one manufacturer known for having better/more accurate maps than another, or are they all pretty comprable?

Thanks!

Dan

$1000.00 for a double din with Navi., good luck. If you want to be more realistic I would say either the Eclipse or Kenwood both have nice systems.

$829 US? Even with tax and shipping... that's pretty close.

Just wondering if anyone has experience with any of these units, or can speak to the pro/cons of one brand over another.

I don't think that one is a dvd player. cd audio only.
