The Best Ground Job I Have EVER Seen
The Best Ground Job I Have EVER Seen
My Son's Mommy has been wanting a system in her car... she got some sony 6x9s and 3.5s or something a while ago and I steered her towards a Clarion deck she got on e-gay.... she wanted me to hook her up with a sub and amp, so I planned on some 4awg, a 400+ watt amp, and a 12" CV vega sub ported low...
well, she didn't want to wait for me to get some together, so the other weekend I found a guy selling some stuff locally and got a Alpine MRD301, a Type R 10" in prefab box, a dual amp thats like 250-300 watts.. and he threw in RCA's and 8awg wiring for $120....
I got everything in except the ground wire and it starts to rain... I ask her to come back the next weekend to finish and we close up shop and go out for dinner...
next week she shows up saying she got some guy she works who knows all about car audio to hook it up... (she is a supervisor at some cell phone call center, and I'm sure every guy there is a self proclaimed car audio expert)
well, she says the amp cuts out as soon as she turns the volume up, and without even looking I say 'bad ground'.... sure enough I found about 8 feet of 16awg wire complete with a 15amp fuse screwed to a still painted ground point used for the trunk light....
Just thought I'd share...

Actually in my collage electronics class, the prof was saying that they (some scientists) current actually runs opposite to voltage. Thus suggesting current runs from ground to power. However in class we still use the idea that both voltage and current run in the same direction.
The fuse is just funny though.
