Best Reasonably Priced Head Unit

I am looking for a new head unit for my 04 vw jetta. Just wondering which unit will be the best bang for my buck? Looking to spend around 200-300 dollars so any input would be great. I will be adding new front components and then upgrading the rear components at a later time. Also will be adding a sub at a later time...just one step at a time i guess.

New or used?

Alpine and Pioneer will have the most products to choose from

Remember to budget for the install harness. An 04 VW is not cheap to go. Antenna adapter at 15-25 and the harness adapter is over 100.

some pretty nice decks in the upper 200's. Some with 24 bit dac's, lots of features and good brand names. They will all sound good, I'd just look for the features I want and the one that appeals to my senses the most...and by the way the x 303 has no cd player just so you are aware.
