The BX1500 will do around 1400rms.
$300 per sub or for the pair?
How much airspace do you have to work with?
Music tastes?

MaxCaliber they are 500wrms but very under rated. I force fed one of the lower wattage ones that is rated for 350wrms 750wrms through a Kove Zx1000 for 9 months and could not kill it. Amazing driver. Canadian Engineered and one of the best sounding subs I have come across. They are $280 chech it out.

the model is CA1210002/2 or 4/4 depending on VC
in the double magnet series.

They were reviewed but PAS mag last season and do very well.

Cheers

What car are you putting them in? How big a box can you fit? Are you going ported or sealed?
Who's building the box? What are you using for mids and highs?
Do you want Loud, Low, Clear, or Looks or some combination of the four....you can't have the loudest, lowest, clearest, flashiest sub, and still be inexpensive, so decide what is the least and most important, and go from there.

And are you set on 2 subs? $600.00 will buy you one awesome sub, that'll sound a lot nicer than a pair of $300.00 subs.

One IDMAX, running at 1 ohm will pull 1500 Watts from your Brutus. Compare that to 2 IDQ12's straining with 750 watts each. Be interesting to see which system sounds better.
Probably the pair would have a bit more SPL, due to the increased cone area, and the coupling effect, but I think the IDMAX would sound a bit cleaner. Easier to build a box for one sub, and no phase cancellation issues as well.

Have a listen to the Fusion Powerplant 12's as well. They have a large surround, hence a bit less cone area, but IMO they hit a lot harder, and tighter. They have quite a bit more mid-bass as well, where the ID's tend to be strictly "Ultra low frequency transducers", so you'd need a good strong set of mids to fill in the gap. They list at $299 each, handle 900 Watts, cast frames etc...

The JL's are also a great sub, very comparable to the ID's in sound.
Kickers also hit hard! Maybe a single L-7?

What it comes down to is; what kind of sound are you looking for? Everyone has an opinion, cause no two subs sound exactly the same....and none are perfect, so which imperfections are you willing to live with, to stay within your budget?

yea, in my last post i told you what kind of car and how much space, i guess it doesnt matter how many subs i get or what size i want someting that will be fairly loud and clear, looks dont matter to me becasue im not putting together a show car so im pretty much looking for something that sounds nice and has a fair amount of SPL but a little bit more SQ almost equal.those treo subs look nice to me, but i dont know if anyone has tried em out!?!?thanks for all the help guys im sure i will make the big decision soon...

You mean the CLIF looks like a knock off of the MAXCALIBER the max was the first on the market to use that frame. Also the pole peice and backing plate are unique as they have a 5 vent cooling system and cools the inside and outside of the coil. Anyone can use the same basket. and the MAX drivers were review in PAS mag and they were very impressed I will put one of these drivers up against any driver of equal wattage and price. I had one and hit 146db with 750wRMS Kove amp.

Cheers
