you really should use t-nuts, but a 1" wood screw will work ......the added thickness of the woofer baffle means the screw won't go through the box that far if at all

k, i'm back from the hardware store and this is what i got - #8 x 1" countersinking deck screw and #10 x 1" pan head wood screw. which would be better? they didn't have pan head deck screws, if there even is such a thing. also, what is baffle board?
