should i get my mechanic to do it? he's know about eletrical stuff too..and i can probably get it for cheaper..or should i just stick to a local store?

you can get anyone to do it.
you can do it yourself also.

whichever place will do it the cheapest

use a minimum of 4awg wire.

do it yourself my friend. mine worked out ok. how else are you supposed to learn unless you get your hands dirty. p.m me and i`ll give the info on where to pick up all the stuff, got it real cheap. i`ll post the install when its finished. use that sound domain post as a reference. don`t get an installer to do it, its not that bad.

If they are that dumb........you want them working on your car ???

When you have it done..........MAKE sure you ask them what kind of connectors and how they are going to terminate them...........crap connectors and crap termination equals a waste of money........

Well the good ways are to use a set screw or compression type connector (if you want cool fancy stuff) or if they are basic copper lugs they should be soldered or use a proper large gauge crimper.............

The bad way to terminate them is to smash the connector in the vise, use a hammer or any other BS termination..........

You can go with some fancy connectors or some basic copper lugs........
