I am upgrading my deck in my car. I am stuck tho. I am not sure what deck I should get and hope you guys can hep me make my decision. I am looking at 2 different decks. One is the Blaupunkt Los Angeles MP72 and the other is the Alpine CDA-9853. Can I get some opinions?

I have a sense of apprehension when it comes to the entry level units from Blaupunkt, however their higher end models(the ones actually made in Germany), are seemingly much better built than their counterparts from the orient, and sound significantly better.
Alpine is very nice, and once again their higher end models do sound a signifacantly better than the regular line.
As for choice between the two, I'd say it's more a personal opinion on which sounds best with the rest of your system, and which one you'd feel is easier to use while driving.

Neither, if you have the cash and want real SQ from the source, go for a Nakamichi deck. Nothing special to look at, but real clean SQ!

i find that alpine is a followers deck
as for the blaupunkt it has more creature comfort features than any other deck out there
and you have to use one to see why
most customers that buy a higher end blau off me that have had every other deck out there tell me they would use nothing other then that now
people who buy alpine are just interested in psychodynamics
you know the me too band wagon for people without brains
they make some decent decks and nice trick f-1 stuff but beyond that there just another japanese head unit
as in for the nak stuff you might as well buy jvc its made of the same cheap plastic crap that it is

i hafta agree with defro, buy nak if you like spending alot of money thats going to leave a hole in your dash while its in for service more often than its in your car. the highend blaupunkts are pretty nice, but so are the alpines. best bet it is to go play with both of them and see which one you prefer more.

Alpine and Blau both have very good radios (the Blau seems to pull in distant stations better. Alpine is super easy to use while driving, the Blau is VERY easy too. I like the feel of the Alpine better.

Not too many competitors using Blau (two this year), lots using Alpine gear. You only mentioned two brands so I will keep the thread on tract

Eclipse would be a good buy. I find the Kenwood Excelon decks to have very good pre-outs and options as well. just an idea.
