Blueskin Sound deadener?
#11
It is not a roofing product it is used on outer foundations of homes to keep water off/out of the foundation/basements, it is butyl based just like other car audio deadeners so i would not see the difference in usage other then application.

ok this got interesting since LOWTONEZ said its butyl based..... so its not a sound deadner cuz....? its not called a deadner? what makes a deadener actual deadner, I will think if its made out of the same damn thing it will be the same damn thing wouldn't? I wil probably check out that stuff since the real deadner is "breaking my *****" - I found the cheapest way to get 40sqft and it comes to $140 of the "real sound deadener" made by second skin audio 99% butyl based etc etc, called damplifier... but that $30 alterantive sounds really appealing

P.s. seems like You guys found my type of deadner :], SuperGP- thank You, saved me about $100 here lol....

When was the last time you saw a wall or roof that needed sound deadening to improve tonal response?????? Your arguement is fine until you reverse it..... if they are the same, why do they not use sound deadener on walls or roofs? Two different products, two different applications.

very similar products actually, DIFFERENT NAMES, and OUTRAGEOUS cost differences. I'm sure if you actually did some major snooping, I'd bet that alot of sound-deadening companies have identical properties as self adhearing membranes.(which are most commonly 2 millimeters thick)
it's kinda like going to a parts store and asking for an olds 3.8 coil pack, and a buick 3.8 coil pack. same exact part, but different product #'s and different prices....(been there done that)
use whatever you feel confident in using. for $30, it isn't a big loss if it doesn't do what you are trying to achieve. however, buying hundreds of dollars of name-brand deadener, and finding out it gives you the same result as the cheaper stuff will really **** you off.
BTW, the best sound deadeners are liquid applied and cure solid. concrete is a great sound deadener----Zero flex. Hmm...concrete is used in foundations...it can't be used as sound deadener, it's not named for it, and it's cheap....I should tell all the exterme competitors that have a ton of concrete in their cars that it doesn't work and they wasted their time.....
