Hi,
does any one know if its safe to cut away at the sheet metal on the driver's side kick pannel of an E46 (1999 and newer bmw's) ?
i need to recess a 4" mid as far in as possible... even getting one inch further away from the clutch pedal would help (while maintaining my ability to angle the speaker facing upwards generally towards the center of the car.... so the hole would only have to be big enough to fit part of the magnet inside).

any information will help.
