What do you guys reccomend in terms of a dual 12" box with a shared chamber for my daily driver? I want it to sound as good as possible without being to punchy or too sloppy. I was thinking 2.25 Cuft before sub displacement.

help me out?

Infinity has recommended box specs/designs for that woofer here:

http://manuals.harman.com/INF/CAR/Bo...ch%20Sheet.pdf

I would just double the recommendation for one sub. Why do you want a single chamber instead of two? With all the bracing that you'll need to put on, you might as well put a barrier in between IMHO...

I contacted infinity's tech department for recommendations for 2-1230w subs in a 3 cube box(gross), they suggested it should be fine with two 4" ports that are 20 3/8" long. They stated; "You should not notice a big reduction in performance." I ran the set up on winisd and it looked pretty good...similar to the recommended set up of 4 cubes and 2 ports 4"x 12.25", not as loud but smoother freq. response with less port noise and better group delay characteristics.

i know that they have put up reccomended specs, but sometimes people on here find a better setup than the one that is reccomended.

i dont think the box would need excessive bracing, afterall, its only a couple 1230w's. one wall in the middle with a hole cut in it would suffice IMO. I just have always had better luck with a dual chamber.

Oh sorry i should have mentioned that I have to go sealed in order to fit it in...this is my daily driver so i only have do much room to work with without making a fibreflass box.

so 2.25 ft^3 plus 3.5 lbs of polyfill will give you close to 3 cubes, which is pretty close to perfect for those drivers. Problem solved.

sorry, actually Infinity recommends 2.5 ft^3 for two of those subs sealed including the driver displacement. see link below:

http://manuals.harman.com/INF/CAR/Bo...ch%20Sheet.pdf

You have 2.25 ft^3 which should be fine, if you want you can add 1-1.5 lbs of polyfill.
