ok, so first questions would be can amplifiers be affected by cold, i live in toronto and winter is just starting to kick in and my amp is starting to kick out.

specs: current generation 1100.1 bought off ebay during the summer from cali

i also have 2 360.4 one white one and one black one (previous generation) they are fine and have been through last winter with me.

what the amp does: in the very cold it will take about 5 min before it starts outputting, then it will cut in and out for about 5 min, and then its pretty much fine, but sometimes makes crackly noises, *the volume is not super loud*

i just tested it indoors off a car battery and it working fine :S so i dunno whats up. it hasnt moved since i installed it in the summer

 

I would check for a bad ground in the car...

 

Either ground or most likely signal cables, assuming all the amps are grounded to the same place and the others aren't giving you problems, I'd look at the signal cables as that's about the only difference from "in" the car to "out"
Electronics love the cold, wont be that, cheap RCA's however that don't fit "just right" could be affected by the cold.

 

Electronics love the cold.....Electronics DO NOT love condensation. If you have a look at them after a cold night, I expect you will see frost on them. Exposed connections are your enemy, but I agree 100% with the above poster. If you have "loose" RCA connectors, then the cold will only exacerbate the problem.

I've got to figure out a way to protect mine a little as well. Cant say I'm happy to see frost on the amps.
