Butler/Tru Tech/MaIntosh - Which to buy??
You should e-mail db don about the Tru Tec amps, as he used to be a dealer for them. Personally they sound very good with lots of headroom, but we are still rookies when it comes to sq.lol We still have an sh-1 left if you are interested.
didn't Richard clark say that the 'warm sound' tubes are know for was due to some sort of mid-rane distortion?
having heard the tubes, and Tru, plus owning Macs i'd say the fight is between the mac and tru. not enough listening time betwen the two to choose a clear winner.
otherwise, buy the TruButlerMac.

Tru makes some great crossovers.. a 2 way and a 3 way, as well as some killer amps. I know from experience that they over design their amps (experience as in I've been waiting on them to redesign a perfectly good amp so they can release it) Tru makes their amps to be bulletproof, and their warranties are great, recently they fixed an amp for the THIRD owner of that particular amp.

you can achieve the same sound by putting a small resistor inline with your speaker.... (although I don't see why anyone would want to )
