Can CDR's damage a deck?

BMWs are snobby cars...they will get quite petulant if you don't feed them a steady diet of high quality music, and gloating praise about what a finely engineered piece of machinery it is. If you burn CDs, make sure they are at least 320kbs, and whatever you do, don't play punk rock....the cd will spit out at high speed when you least expect it, and possibly break your nose!

Actually it won't play anything but Aiff files. BMW's are universally renowned for shabby audio systems. The original Cassette deck/tuner wouldn't play over 9K from what I have read. The current one from a later model seems OK.

yeah, my brother has a 2003 3 series and it has the worst stock stereo I have ever heard. Obviously, the cost of the vehicle is not reflected in the audio system as my friend has a kia rio with a factory aftermarket sony deck and it rocks.

My wife owned a '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the factory CD player & from '98 to 2001 it played CD-R just fine.

I do not recommend doing a google image search for "hairy" without the 'safe search filtering' on ...yuk

The thing about CDs is no physical contact with the laser (no they can not damage a CD player).
