Can this be done?

Dual 4ohm coil subs rated at 750rms-1500peak
Non bridgable amps rated at 300x2@12v
Y split left signal to L/R input of one amp and one channel output to each coil of the left sub.
Y split the right signal to the L/R input of the other amp and one channel output to each coil of the right sub.
Have I had to many beers or would this work (ok I know the answer to the beers part LOL) I know it wouldnt really be pushing the subs to their max but its a daily driver and the amps should run nice and cool running at 4ohm no?
Thanks

I think that you'll end up blowing the outputs of both amplifiers, because each will see no load on an amplified channel.

I think what you are trying to say, is that you want to send only the left signal to one amp, and the right signal to the other amp. Then wire one sub, but both voice coils to one amp. Using one channel to run one coil and the other channel to run the other coil. Same with the other sub and amp. I don't see a reason why this wouldn't work, might be a bit wonky, but each channel of both amps will see a 4 ohm load.

Should work, but it'd be better to run a mono signal to all the channels if you can.
If not, run a left and right to each coil per sub.

subbass is mixed mono... so that dosen't even matter...

the only draw back will be if your amps are 2ohm stable you may not be getting your 300x2 per amp... maybe only 150...

Kinslayr ~ Yup thats exactly what I mean.
Haunz ~ The amps are 300x2 @4ohms at 2ohms they are 600x2 but they are not bridgable so the only difference in using 2 over the one is the amps should be able to run cooler. I just wasnt sure if sending a signal from each channel to each coil (even if it was from the same input) would be safe for the sub? My problem is I dont have a single amp to drive both subs that hard so I am trying to dream up a way of using the stuff I have.
Thanks for the quick replys

I think the only issue you might have is that if the channels on the amp(s) aren't level matched, the sub(s) might be seeing different output levels on each individual coil.
Hopefully won't be a problem.

I don't see any problem in your plans though.

LOL well I still only have the one the others still in a freinds hands but not for long
The 2 SS ref 1000s I have really make these subs sing but look out of place with the PPIs so I thought it would look better all PPI AMs
Thanks again for all the replies you guys
