MDF on the top and bottom panels of my sub box? I plan to run 2 8" TangBand's in a ported box in my spare tire well. Sides withh be 3/4" for easier access to put drywall screws into, but wondering if the top and bottom piece could be 1/2" mdf and I use alot of bracing?

would i be hard pressed by doing it this way? I dont wana do fiberglass because its expensive and its time consuming, just a simple sqaure box where my spare tire well goes.

Maybe just make the whole thing out of 5/8" MDF ? It should be fine with that because I'm guessing you won't be running a whole lot of power ...

you ought to be fine,,, want to be sure?? then brace it properly. i've buil the box for my 15" brahma out of 1/2" MDF for the flat pieces and 3/8" fiberglass on the wheel well itsel. i know the 1/2" is not thick enought, so i am bracing it all over the place leaving no long flat suface untouched...
