I would go for sure!

1. I am still a wanted Chinese Terrorist in New York so I cant cross the Border.

2. Canada has never have one and are overdue.

I have been to SBN, Atlanta, Louisville and Indy, it would be nice to see one in Toronto.

I spoke to Wayne for the past few years in regards to doing Finals in Toronto. When they did multi NA Location Finals, I felt that he could have done a Toronto Location at that time. He told me that he loves Toronto and would have probably attended it if there was one. The concern is the cost of venue and insurance up here and the lack of support of Sponsorship in Canada.

IF everyone worked together ie judges, promoters, shops and distributers, cover the costs for a WF say at International Center, I am sure that Wayne would do it. Brazil got WF last year because the support was there. If we have one in Toronto, Wayne could place the US Location in the middle of the states which would help draw the Eastern States to the Canadian Location.

Right now a bunch of them make no effort to get points because there's no reason to do it.

also, don't be so naive to think that if we have one in Canada that the US version will be in the Northern part.

It'll be down in Texas or something very southern to encourage US people to come up here

Don.. I say make it happen. This way we know one way or another if it can work.

If it works - sweet, we'll get more.

If it flops - the people who have wanted it for so long will finally see that it's not a viable option

Either way there is a win-win situation.
Very True. The problem with Canadian is that their are few serious competitors. But maybe a Canadian finals would encourage more people to come out!!! So your right win-win

Jordy/Jeff this is exactly what i like to hear. It will take alot of work and alot of funds to do it but if we all work towards, and support it, it IS going to happen. Its hard work for 1 person to set it all up, solicit sponsors, do all the leg work and if anyone is up to it, the help is appreciated.

Out of curiosity... what makes someone a "serious competitor" ?

Don... we just want to help. If there's anything my team can do for you just let us know. Right now we have 2 multi's planned for Eastern Ontario and we'll do everything we can to get the TNE folks to come up across the border too!

Let me play Devil's Advocate here for a second ...

WHY would the finals be hosted here? What would be the reason / benefit?

If it's to gain more interest out of Ontario (and Canadians for that matter) in the event (and future events, in the U.S.) I'd say sure, go for it.

But if it's to gain $$$ as an event, compared to other locations and venues, I doubt that's a reason to come to Canada. I just don't see what they have 'there' over 'here'.

So why should it come to Canada?

Someone who goes to every show possible. Someone who gains or tries gain from show to show. Just overall people trying to be competitive within North America.

WF could cost up to 20K. If we charged 200 we would need 100 competitors to break even. I dont believe it is to gain $$$.

If this is the definition of a serious competitor than I will say I am not one however, I will say that you would see me at WF if it was in the GTA with a dozen people.
