I got mine through ARA Auto Accessories here in Calgary. Talk to Tom, I'm sure he can ship direct to you.

But I say, rethink your choice... H2's are not indestructable, and they're just glorified overpriced Made in China crap. They (Directed Quebec) won't even rewind/recone one (they're made in China - they must not know HOW to recone them or something) that's only 11 months old. Made me pay 50% for a new one.

The H2 is proving to be a great sounding driver that can have very good results in the SPL lanes also.
Daily bumpers are running 2500rms+ to them daily and SPL competitors are running 8000rms+ in comps.
An 11 month old driver will be completely replaced under warranty if it was a faulty driver. Personally I would take a brand new driver over a simple recone anyday.
Of course if you have abused the driver and done something not covered under warranty you will be expected to pay. Considering you had to pay 50% of replacement cost then I would say it was user error.
I may be thinking of someone else but haven't you complained on this forum about a Kenwood HU going bad, then a amp you broke, and now a sub?

Yep, that's me

My Kenwood HU went in for warranty repair four times over it's first two years of life. They finally replaced it completely near the end of it's two year warranty. The new one has been fine since, although it's only been a few months now.

And ya, my first Orion amp was an XTR900 that kept heating up a resistor "responsible for absorbing back EMF from the woofer". I never "broke" it, it did that from the day I installed it. The local techs replaced the resistor several times, with larger ones too, in hopes of finding the problem elsewhere on the board. Took them over a month, trying every possible scenario and whatnot, but it kept frying that resistor. And talking to Directed was fruitless - they had less ideas of what could be wrong with it than the techs at my shop, again, I presume because it's made in China, they dunno how to fix them if something unusual goes wrong. So after a month I finally gave up on the XTR900, and Tom gave me the credit back toward my 1200D. I've had my 1200D for... about 15 or 16 months now, it's been rocksolid, no complaints.

The one good thing about Orion is I can email the Directed tech dudes (the ones in California that is, Directed Quebec has never replied to an email) about almost anything and get a reply, and good advice. Canadian Orion, well, they're not the brightest lot. The Calgary regional dude from Orion called me up when I was down my H2 (I was thinking of replacing my 12in. H2 with a 15), and said my amp was to small for a 15 (even though the 10's 12's and 15's are all rated for the same wattage), and that if I wanted a 15 I should get another 1200D and run a 1200d on each coil. When I said I'm already running at 1 ohm, 1200w, and adding a second 1200d would only raise the ohms to 2, therefore REDUCING overall power to the sub by half, making each amp give only 1/2 the power, he just did a "oh... ummm.. well... erg........". They don't know crap about car audio, they just try to sell.

When I was in the market for the sub, I was told that H2's were "almost indestructible". I figured one super-sub that is "virtually indestructible" would be a better purchase than two or three "normal" subs. Sure, nothing is forever, but still... I give it 1200w, not the 2000w continous or 2500w peak it's rated for. Gain setting - I suppose in hindsight I must have had it to high, although it never ever sounded like I did, the sound was always good. The day it died, it just died, no smokeshow, no stink, no kabooms, no nothing... I wasn't even working it hard that day. However, it's adjusted differently now, I'm a little more carefull. Will I blow my new one? Ya I guess the likelyhood of that is pretty high, but now I've got a spare, that I can get rewound/coned. In hindsight, I guess I should've stuck with my old Kenwood db+ 250w sub and 300w amp... It was loud, sounded great, and I pounded the hell out of it for over two years... was a great setup.

But then, I walked in and saw that XTR900 in the clearance rack (it was still new, just had been bolted to the wall display for years and never used) and got sucked in...

Will I buy Orion again? An amp, ya, maybe. A sub? Hard to say, but probably not, unless I win the lottery or something. There are many subs, half the price, that I could get two or three of and outperform the H2.

Well I can't say anything bad about orion, except it takes a lot to take them out. I was running an orion hcca 15 full bore for almost 18 months daily driving and in comps before finally completely seperating the cone from the coil, and it was the cleanest break I've even seen. It took me less than 1 1/2 months to blow another unnamed 12" sub (1 of 2) the same way and the cone was all ripped apart it didn't even look cool...unlike the orion, I'd go back if I had a dealer nearby...and some money...and some room...dam I miss that sub.

P.S. I hit a 149.4 with it (healthy) on the mic system, 142.0 (starting to die) on termlab
