ERr... if you want reliability of a higher milage vehicle then diesel is the way to go.

They are known for lasting a hell of a lot longer than a regular gas vehicle.

You are right, a diesel VW is just about broken in at 80K. Those engines are good for about 500K if you get your oil changes done.

The V6 accord is a nice car....good power....not near the mileage of a TDI.

The 4 cylinder Accord might be a bit under powered compared to a new TDI.....also the mileage will be less.

Don't mean to burst any bubbles... but Diesel is more expensive than gas... at least where I live by a good 10-12 cents...

Also... can't you go further on a tank of diesel rather than regular gas?

I wouldn't mind paying an extra .10 per liter if it's going to take me twice as far

a TDI Golf in Europe recently went over 1100km's on less than a 55 liter tank of diesel averaging 120km/h. when they filled up the tank they estimated there was another 70km worth of fuel left. average fuel economy was 4.4l/100km

The VW is a nice car but lately for re-sale I've noticed they're starting to take bigger hits so if you have to sell for what ever reason I think re-sale value will still be a better value with the Accord.
