Car Audio Legend!

Holly Mungal and the CAR crew built my car. If you can get a hold of old CA & E, you will see most of his car featured in there.
Last I heard, he still owns the Ferrari. GN sold to a guy in Kentucky and did well in IASCA circuit.

Lights out: WOW a 12 second mustang. Those late eighties/ early nineties are FAST cars, but I didn't know that fast, damn.... what has been done to it? twin turbo? I heard those are pretty common on that era of mustang. BTW... is driving a car like that the reason for your excitment and enthusiasm? LOL

Biggest problems for those Fox body mustangs was number one: traction and number two: keeping it in one pice.
My buddy has a fully built Fox body. Car has no power options and the weight is just over 2800lbs. Motor does ~550hp at the crank and suspension is fully done/tied. Even with the biggest street slicks he can fit under the wheel wells it is still rather scary to drive.
Back when I was in highschool one of the "rich kids" bought a new Fox bodied mustang (~'91). Did everything to this car; full motor, blower, tranny, suspension, frame completely tied, etc. Everything in the Summit and Ford Motorsports catologues except for NOS.
The car split right down the middle in the door jams. It lasted about two months from build to wreckers.

The ricer crowd here in the Big Smoke is massive and it's growing exponentially! It seems that everywhere you turn imports are everywhere. They are building (Japan) some incredible cars and credit must be given to their engineers and to the many car crazed enthusiasts that have taken the sport to the next level just like many board members have done with car audio. I will be the first one to admit that there is absolutely nothing wrong with imports as I have driven many friends automobiles. How in the world to you explain twin turbo 1.6L Honda motors producing 1200hp from a four cylinder motor. Last I heard in the Pro Class imports have gone as fast as 6.7@214mph in the quarter. An important note to consider is the build cost of these purpose built race cars. Much more expensive (10*) than taking a naturally torque rich V8 motor just like some of the crazier amplifiers we have today. Consider my car a factory fluke but for such a simple combination (stock short block, larger mass air meter calibrated 24lb injectors, larger throttle body and egr spacer, ported upper and lower aftermarket intake, aftermarket camshaft, 1.7 roller rockers and get this, stock cast iron heads that have been tricked out, will not release specifications my little secret, headers, exhaust, hiflow cats, stock T5 tranny, 3.73 gears, Southside machine lift bars, frame connectors, sfi approved bellhousing and driveshaft safety loop combination tested and perfected by PSP Racing in Toronto with all working accessories 3475 lbs with driver do the calculations to derive approxiamtion of dyno results which I will tell you mean s***t when it come to quarter mile numbers). Drive it like you stole it powershifting at 6K (breaking a few transmissions along the way) and with the right tire (slick) car hooks nails and suprisingly goes straight! Just don't ask the wife to sit in the passenger seat. She hates the damn car and the neighbours hate me even more as not only do I polute the environment with the wonderful smell of Sunoco Ultra 94 gasoline, people jones when they hear orignal series Flowmaster mufflers from block and blocks away. Women literally grab onto their children (no joke) when I'm in second gear cruising at 4k rpm. They must think I'm breaking land spead records when in actuality, I'm cruising at 60km/hr. I just get f******g horny just thinking about the little hot rod as it just loves to rev like stink! Many faster and better built cars on the streets today but on a limited budget and minimal mods, the 5.0l Mustang (along with crazy LS1 motored Camaros (1998-2003)is the the best bank for the buck in car nirvana history just as I have said before on this board, Long Live The Rockford Fosgate Punch 150.
Happy New Year to everyone and lets all try and organize a party sometime in the New Year.
Thanks

^^^^ okay, I dont care what anybody says, this guy is cool!!! Haha, I can see me growing old (but not really) becoming more like this guy. I know some people are going to hate me for this. But I LOVE Japanese cars. My little mazda MX6 handles better then any car I've ever driven except for a Corvette and a Viper. I just love the Jap. imports. you know? Toyota makes an engine called the "3SGTE", its a race motor, only purchaseable via special order (a measly $20K though) that is only a 2.0 liter I4 that dishes out 1600 HP. It will also last 60K kilometers without needing a rebuild ( or any other serious work). that is frickin' nuts.... like jeez.
For $60K in the mid-nineties you could have brought a supra, or a Corvette, which has better engineering, and is essentially capable of more performance for less money? you know? crazy stuff. I used to work with a guy that had a '91 Mustang cobra, it was only 400 BHP, with NOS, but it was STUPIDLY fast, even with three JL subs in the back. It was NUTS!!!!! Those cobras are amazing cars though, dont get me wrong, even though I'd never buy one.

I don't mean to burst your bubble. But the MX-6 was built on the old Ford Probe Platform.
...the Probe was slated by Ford Execs to be the successor to the Mustang. Guess people liked the Mustang more than the Probe, cause guess which one got axed.

The public freaked when they learned the 'Mustang' was going FWD and thus the Probe got it's own badging and the Mustang continued on. I suppose Ford learned something from their mistake in 1974..
And IIRC the MX6 and the Probe were both built in Mazda plants The 12valve I4 in my wife's 89 was certainly nothing Ford derived.
