Thanks guys. I think I'm going to try the PC power source/battery combo. Won't be until Spring that I look more into it, but gives me time to plan it better. When I'm ready to get started 420Guy, I'll let you know.

No problem I will be here LOL. I will get my bro in law to keep his eyes open for a suitable power supply or 2 or 10 LOL. He comes across all kinds of crap from who knows where. He can probably put together 3 or 4 complete PCs from just the spare crap he has lying around. I watched him do it one day too, mine crapped out and needed a new motherboard. Was complaining about being without a comp for 2 weeks until I could afford a new board. So he put a temp one together with just crap he had laying around. Worked fine until I got mine fixed. Will let you know if I find anything interesting.

I keep a solar panel on an optima yellow top as my power supply in my cabin up north. You could also just use a 2amp trickle charger. Cranking it up pretty good I get a solid 3 hours of listening time. and the battery recharges the next day.

you can also shop on ebay for a CAE 40amp power supply. both setups will run you a little over $200, and you still a car head unit, an antenna, speakers...Just buy a entry level 2 channel receiver and build your own speaker enclosures.

WARNING! By putting the red and yellow together you're sending 17v to the HU... I don't think HU are rated to run that high. Use only the yellow one, it will give you 12v, this will be enough for the HU and iy will not fry.
