JL Audio is the best company in car audio

The W7 is the loudest sub out there due to its large foam surround

I thought that was true. That's why my system sucks, I don't have any JL equipment

p.s. thumpper I don't call them subwoofers, I call them electroacoustic transducers lol

You should see in Brazil, W7 is god... and the MTX 95... is just a small step under, hehehe.

after 35 milliseconds (your number) the cap is nothing more than an extra drain on the battery. Correct? ;)

So I've read the link showing Richard's Clark response and lessons's of basic electricity.

How does this all explain, My experiences of simply not having a Cap, and then getting a Cap (while changing nothing else in the car - nothing, no wiring, battery, Alt, temperature), same song same volume level and the voltage level was sustained much better. The bass felt noticeably better, sounded better/tighter, and the bonus was ....headlights.

Please explain this. Obviously we all don't need to spend $50-150 on Cap's/terminal connections, extra wire...etc. if we don't need to.

""Electroacoustic"" ......LMAO

....as far as the cap debate goes, i think that is right on the money.

Ah my bad. I'll concede you're right in that the high current is also short lived and the cap will have a chance to recharge. Only thing is (in this example) you will still only have another ~35 milliseconds reserve. I'm not saying a cap is useless, I just think a second battery is a better solution. Better yet a switching regulator for the rest of the car's electrical system. Imagine it... rock solid voltage all the time. Until your battery pukes of course.:)

A switching regulator? I presume it's just like an alternator regulator?...So the voltage will be sustained for the stereo while the rest of the car's electrical suffers? Or do you mean while adding that 2nd battery, install a Battery isolator?

Another point about the advantage of adding a Cap over a 2nd battery....is simply space. The cost of an isolator as well.

One question about the Cap's strength and capacity though. A fellow member on the Grand Prix club I'm on, installed a 25 Farad Cap bank maybe 2 years ago. His voltage was 16-17V, and he sometimes had problems starting his car as with all electrical equipment have ranges that they work in. Well one morning the PCM wouldn't start the car because the voltage was too high. Everything else in the car was either too bright, working quicker than normal of course or certain features wouldn't work. In terms of an audio systems...this would be a good thing...lol, but the fact that it's in a vehicle that now won't function....isn;t that the whole point.

Which is better sustained Voltage or a High capacity of current, or potential current.
