Where can I typically buy some car audio carpet?

I asked a local shop (Certified Radio) and I got some answers which seem to be quite high. ~$10-15CAD for 3ft*1ft segment of carpet.

Last time I carpeted a box, I think I bought like 3ft*6ft for like $8CAD at Home Depot. It was a fairly thin grey carpet that looked good. However it had a thin backing on it so I had to use carpet adhesive to apply it which is quite messy. It also didn't mesh together too well and you could see the places where it was cut.

Any alternatives to get good materials? I'm afraid to step into Michael's to see what they have (a craft and fabric store, because that store is for women and gays).

ask around at other local car audio shops. I bought 2 yards and it was something like 52"x38" a yard, and it cost me $30. You could always try vinyl aswell

I went to Apple Auto Glass - at $18 a yard it was a bit pricey but it is 5 feet wide and unbacked (so it can butt edge pretty cleanly).

i agree...$15 per yard seems to be the norm.

I work at a carpet store and we sell OEM replacement carpet for $10 a yard. Really nice stuff too. I can give you a # if you need to find some closer to you.

Ouch.. last stuff I bought was $7 for every foot of 6" wide carpet. I guess that works out to about $10.50/square yard.

It was nice black automotive carpet, extra thick too!

Go to End of the Roll, Its on lougheed in maple ridge, if maple ridge doesn't have any, we have some in abbotsford, black, blue and gray i believe.

For the Toronto guys....Active Surplus on Queen Street West sells either black or grey pieces 4 feet X 6 feet for $15.00
