I am thinking about getting one. Will the player read mp3's off a dvd? Is it different for each player, or are they all the same. I would figure that it would...shouldnt make a difference, but who knows.
thanks in advance

Just for you.. I will burn off a dvd with mp3's and see... but the Pioneer deck I have (6500) tends not to like mp3's unless they are split in to many folders, it might take me a bit, but i will find the answer for you on my deck.

thanks for all the help guys. I was going to get a dvd player, but then I heard that you can only play mp3 off cdr...so I figured whats the point. I am thinking about getting the sony player that has a hard drive...anyone heard anything about that? To be honest, I cant come across any mp3 players that are a reasonable price...dont really know what to get. Not into car audio like I used to be, so something to just get my by with mp3 capability is fine...but something with good sound quality is a must.

Thanks again for the help

Also keep in mind the preout voltage is usually crap on DVD and the laser quailty is the greatest on some units. Really research the unit first.

Okay, DVD mp3 disc burned... "non playable disc". That's on my Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD. I however do thank you for giving me the chance to back up most of my mp3s..wow.. sure can fit a lot on a DVD!!

I know for a fact that home players play mp3 dvd discs, but not cars...what is the point of having a dvd player in the car...I mean, a minivan, fine, but a car?? If it would play mp3s off a dvd, then I could see the point...thats a damn lot of music. As for the sony deck...it reads mp3s, but only on a disc, it wont put them on the hard drive. If I would get it, then I would just make a bunch of atrac3 songs on a disc and transfer it that way...from what I read, it is a pretty good unit. If I get it, then I will let you know.
