Car Sub help

Ok i got a problem. I got a 2000 honda civic si. I got 2 p3's with 1000 watt rms combined and i got the fosgate p1000-1bd amp, my question is how many capacitors would i need? I been getting different answers from every major audio store in toronto. One best buy guy told me i would need 2 capacitors another one told me there's no way im gon be able to use that system in my car, another one told me it should be fine with one capacitor, and a future shop guy told me i just need 1 cap and a higher volt battery. I dun wan do the big 3 ijust want a short term solution where ican be able to switch this sound system over to another car after a year or two. How many capacitors would i need or what other way can i get this sound system working good? Any help would be appreciated, also does anyone know what kind of spray paint i can use to paint the mouldings on my car and where i can buy them. Thanks

A cap is a bandaid that in this case is a total waste of $. A cap does not create power, it only stores a little miniscule amount of what is already there. You do indeed need to do the Big 3. Use the proper guage wiring for the amplifier and the length of wire to be used. The longer the run, the larger the wire needs to be. Ensure that you have a proper ground. Short term gain = long term pain. Do it once, do it right and enjoy good sound. Do it wrong and we will see future posts of "my amp died on me, why?".

West

Contact one of the vendors from this list here on the site. Selective Sound, Audio Heaven and Perfect Tones should all be somewhere in your neck of the woods. I am unsure if Steve (SmartAss) is up and running for install at this time. Here is a link for you to find these guys and contact them.
