CDT-ES06+ Sealed 0.2x cbft - PICS!
Latest project, completing my 3 way setup
0.2x cbft Sealed box for my CDT-ES06+
Most stuff done by Dan (nghtrdr), I was mostly just an extra pair of hands.
Clamping the pieces together:
Temporarily held with screws:
Routing the speaker mount:
Countersinking the rear for T-nuts:
Mock up:
A face plate with 1/8" flange would sit in front of the speaker mount, protecting the driver Same goes with the end plate. Middle portion will be carpeted.
The box is currently about 0.22" cbft. Including driver displacement + felt mat that I'd be tossing in, it should be about 0.20 cbft, which is what I am aiming for. The box would be place in front of the driver and passenger seat, behind the legs.

That puts my box to shame. lol I love the amount of precision that's gone into that.
My holes were cut by a jig-saw...
It was my first time. Had decent help, but there were some design flaws that come up during construction that I didn't 'see' in my diagrams. I really hope it's solid enough.
See >>>
Port is 4x6, 30" long. According to the port calculator I use that should result in a 30Hz tuning. We had it hooked up in my car last night, just to make sure it was wired correctly. Got home, pulled the sub out, and what you see is the sealant drying on all the seams. I also used a dab to keep the speaker wire secure. I bought non-hardening weather stripping, basically plasticine, that'll be used as a gasket under the edge of the woofer.
We did experience a little buzzing while it was playing, I'm hoping that it goes away once everything is cured... If not, I will have a professional build me a duplicate.

thnx Sasha.
the front cover plate is a little off centre. we will have to sand the inside edge a bit so the speaker does not rub. everything else went without a hitch.. should be priming/sealing tonite. maybe get the carpet installed on the centre portion, than the only thing left is to paint the front and rear.
