For those that went, impressions??

As discussed with some others, not much there that was WOW on the new factor (surprise, surprise). BUT, there was one thing........ that JL adaptor for cars with head units that people don't want to take out or can't. Now that's a sweet little piece. If I'm not mistaken, Audio Control also has something similar (and yet not).

Alpine X5........... interesting....... but.

ICON TV spent a LOT of money this year on their booth.

A lot of flea market stuff there again............ some of the booths were awful with respect to the quality level of the booths themselves.

Sad to see the Focal Grand Utopia home speaker in the Focal car audio booth get damaged by some old man sticking his finger through the berillium tweeter. What an idiot. Stupid stupid people.

TREO demo vehicle is bigger then a Hummer...... say hello to the Harvester by International. We took a ride in this thing......... passed a Hummer on the Las Vegas Strip....... easily looking down at the roof of the Hummer. Too funny to see the Hummer driver's face. Oh yes, everyone needs one of these !!!!

Saw the JL Adaptor... quite a cool idea. As for the Audio Control piece, it's a good idea, but it's already been done. MTX was explaining that at the booth, it's built into all their amps for this year, can add an amp and sub or complete system to ANY system now Bose, Infinity, stock or not... whole lot easier and cheaper than trying to get adaptors or telling the customer that they need a new head unit. I thought that was a cool thing.

I took a whole bunch of pics which I'll post as soon as I find out how to do it fairly eaily... I saw the Kicker VW Bug and thought of Derek so snapped some pics of that...

I loved the show.

JL Cleansweep looks to be very cool. Some VERY big woofers and amps comming our way But most of all, I love the way the new amp styling is looking: clean, sleek and classy .. no more spaceship-looking amplifiers.

Cell Phones comming out look VERY cool.

Everyone has an MP3 player.

TV's are way out of control. 102", 80" and 71" Plasma selling for $75,000 USD

Just Crazy!!!! (but thats why I love this show so much.

Not nearly enough ladies at CES.

I remember a time where every booth had a female model.

Oh and the convention hot dog put me up in my hotel sick for 2 days

220 dealers cost JL's clean sweep.(heard it kinda cool gives ya a base line to start with so it will sound good once you eq it with a proper setup, once again jl shows me why there not a speaker company there XR's were losing control during the whole demo)
lots of fast cars, nothing really great.
Icon screens needs better display area (to much light on screens maybe?) I was not impressed (cars were sooo cool), maybe I expected to much?
MTX amps look great.
Got to meet lots of people in out industry, loved it want to meet ya all again.
Went and saw rod steward come on hes a classic, I must of heard the word monster a billion times before the show started.
