I hope you can provide some helpful suggestions. I am looking for an inexpensive remote start / keyless entry solution. I am comfortable installing it myself, Car is 1999 Hyundai Elantra 4dr, automatic. Thanks in advance!

Bulldog?!?<shudder> ask any installer about the Bulldog. Watch his reaction. You will not want a Bulldog now, later or ever. I do not know of a single shop that will install the Bulldog unit.

@80% of those units were DOA right out of the box.

I am hoping 347stroker was just being sarcastic.

I got a $50 bulldog starter for my truck and installed it myself 2 years ago...so far so good, I haven't even changed batteries in the hand unit. But Migsie did say he wanted CHEAP.

Mine works great, always has. I doubt %80 of these would be DOA out of the box or Walmart wouldn't still be selling them years later. Anyways I'm sure there is a better deal out there somewhere...good luck.

only good thing bulldog has offered the world is the in depth wiring diagrams so people who buy their products can render their cars useless and cry about it. most shops will sell you a remote start over the counter but offer no warranty as they did not install it and can't insure any problems are a result of the product or a user error in installation. good luck.
