Choice of Sub

I am looking into upgrading.
Currently running a Cerwin Vega Stroker Stkr122 (12" 1200watts rms) on a Hifonics Brutus Brz1200.1d in a ported box. Wanting to get more bass and more punch.
Budget is around $200 per sub. Looking into getting 2. I am looking at the following:

Alpine Type R 15 (SWR-1542D) - sealed box
Rockford Fosgate P3D4-15 (11P3D415) - sealed box
Sundown Audio SA12 - ported box
And if it's worth the extra money, maybe a Sundown Audio SA15 - sealed box

I want more output. I know cone area will do that for me. If I go 15, I can only get a sealed box. If I go 12, I can get a ported box. I want the feeling of deep, heavy bass. Suggestions?

Wouldn't that be less cone area? Less output? Or does port vs. sealed make that much of a difference? I only have about 2 cubic ft per sub. Maybe a little more. I own a sedan. Will have the subs facing into the car. And I have heard cars with subs that can be heard from a long distance away. What kind of setup would that be? Just curious.

Vented enclosures have more output than sealed. When you say your going to fire the subs into the car, you mean your taking the backseat out or do you mean your firing the subs into the back seat?

But wouldn't the 15's have more cone area? Or does ported really make that much of a difference? Of course with no backseat. Well, just folded down most of the time. Still need the backseats occasionally.

Check out a newer brand called Eminent Audio, they're based out of Bay City Michigan. (Altimate Automotive is the name of the company if you'd like to persue and ask for Steve) they come off the same line as Atomic and many others including Sundowns to my understanding. I always liked high end subs and the closest thing that comes to what I've had in quality would be the JBL MKII 12's, if you want ground pounding bass go 15 in a ported as stated above. I went all sorts of routes for quite some time. If you want something that would blow people away do 3 8s or 10s in a Transmission line box though huge they slam. Makes a 10 sound like a 15

Go to an audio shop in your area and listen to a sealed and vented enclosure and see for yourself.
