Coaxial cable to RCA
How can this be done?
Here is my deal:
My TV is at one end of my house while my stereo is at the other end. My house is laced with old coaxail cable to put a tv in every room etc.
There is an unused coaxial cable that goes from the TV to stereo. I was thinking of using the coaxial out-put on the TV (the one that normally runs to the VCR) to run a signal to the stereo.
I already have the speaker wires run, I just need to run the signal wires. Is there a way that I can use the co-axial signal (which is L, R, and Video) and convert it to a standard RCA?
I don't want to run more wires because that is a pain in the butt, and the wires are already there. Can this be done?

if you convert co-axx to RCA.. its a single line..
it no longer carries left/right audio and video..
it will only do 1..
because its really just modulating those sounds into frequencies..
so.. for stearo sound.. you would need a dual co-ax run converted to rca

^^ But I would let the full signal run the length of the house, and at the other end I would like to use a convertor.
TV -> Co-axial out -> Signal through co-axial through house (this is 3 part still at this point L, R, V) then at the other end, convert to RCA and plug into stereo system.
I will do an on-line search for these things. I am assuming that something like this would need to have a power supply and that there isn't a strictly mechanical way to do the conversion. I'll see what I find.
