I did a search on the board, did not find too much on the old Coustic amps, I am looking at a 514DR, the 4 channel amp they made, anybody have any opinions, experience with these amps? Thanks!

Decent amps but IMO no better than the regular line of Coustic of the time. The DR amps seems to command a premium dollar still which I guess is good if you are selling but not so good if you are buying.

I believe these amps were reincarnated in the black Coustic amps a few years later.

Decent amp though. Looked all sexy with that nice gold DR logo on them.....

The Coustic DR are not bad sounding amps. and definately better then their straight Costic line. I believe they were designed by a home audio co. Synergestic or something..... It uses solid core internal wiring by Cardas. and has balanced inputs.

I did have one issue with these amp tho...... If the speakers are inefficient like 8 ohms, the input stage would clip before the output does. other then that... its a nice sounding amp for the money. [img]smile.gif[/img]
