Hey all,
Im new, not to car audio, but to this forum. I really like the setup here mainly because its canadian and the people that you deal with are canadian, sell in cdn funds and so on! Anyway, to my question!
I was wondering which sub you think is the best between jl 12w7, re xxx, mtx 9500, or kicker L7?
obviously assume that the subs have proper amount of power and also comment on cost value! I ask this because I find that most car audio shops never tend to have the top of the line of any product in stock so you can never really listen to their highend stuff until you already committe to buy it! I have an mtx 9500 and I think it hits really hard and crisp i was able to hit a spl of 148(a 144 on new mic)dbs with a single "12 and only 568 watts, but i have not had the chance to hear any other highend subs! So i would like to know what everyone has to say on the matter and if there is a sub that you think should be on this list comment on it.
thanks

I've heard all of the above with the exception to the W7. I liked the XXX myself. The L7 really does need a box the size of a coffin, the mtx is nice, yes, but the XXX is better (IMHO).
I haven't heard the W7, but I do know that the specs aren't as good as the 9500 so I suspect the 9500 outperforms it. Also, the mounting method on the W7 is just unusual (I give JL credit for trying something new though).
Thats my $0.02

I would think that in the proper application it would be hard to be disappointed with any of those subs.

Where can u get a re xxx, I had never heard of this sub until I read some american forums! I when to there site, the spec sheet says it can take 1600 watts rms, if this is true how much is this sub?

I've heard the XXX as a 15", and it's amazing, with 800 RMS or so, it just rocks. The XXX is slightly cheaper than the W7, contact NorthernSPL on this forum, he is the canadian distributor. his email is shockingspl@yahoo.com

I'd throw the IDmax in there as well, it's a killer sub and will hang with those you mentioned.

on the topic of the XXX's, have you guys seen the Chev Silverado on RealmOfExcursion??? has like 6 XXX's in the back with all plexi and neon with a blowthru into the cab? was installed by Superior Sound. kinda off topic, kinda not. but that install and the flex factor of that setup makes me want some XXX's REAL BAD.. and an install by these guys! seen some of their other work as well, on this forum. UNBELIEVABLE. all i can say about that.

Welcome to the forum! I know this may be off topic, but can I listen to your 9500? I've heard many great things about it, but never had a chance to actually hear it!
