Crossovers on component speakers

Crossovers on component speakers
I have a pair of Energy component 5 1/4's. I will be running them off of deck power crossed over at 100Hz. There is currently a set of stock component speakers in the car. I am not sure where the speaker wire that is presently connecting the tweeters goes (It does not go down to the woofer) therefor will have to run my own wire from the energy's to the new tweeters in order to connect it to the crossovers that came with the energy's. My question is whether or not it is important to connect the crossovers or can I leave them out and not have to do any wiring. I would have to do some serious dismantling in order to route the new wire through the dash.

If you want you can buy some bass resisters and solder it to the tweeters. That way you won't have to worry about blowing your tweeters. Hey Sasha, by him doing this will it still blow the tweeter. My thought was that the reason the tweeter would blow is because the crossover is what filters the bass from going thru the tweeter????

You should find a wiring diagram for your car and locate those tweeter wires. You can put the crossovers under the dash where you can get to the tweeter wires and run new wire to the mids. Maybe someone here can help if you post which car you have.
I have another question. Is there any problem with running the mids for midbass without a crossover, using only the crossover on the amp?

Well I decided that my poor old 1993 Mazda 626 wasn't good enough to waste my time on. Odd things are starting to happen and I would rather not invest my time too much on this one. I am gonna put the speakers in my Yaris and save the hassle. I'm gonna do a stealth install and I will convert the components back in to coax's. The tweeters that came with them don't look very nice and won't flush mount anyways. Thanks all who replied.
