He has the same right as any paying customer to post his situation. What Jordy should have done is offered price protection as any good business person would have done. He should also realize that there is also a distinction between a Joe Public customer and a Industry customer. If Jordy was charging a different price to Dave as a Industry customer as compared to a Joe Public customer..... well let's just say that that is not a good business practice.

Jordy, I am not here to tell you how to run your business, but from this little blip on the radar, it shows that some fine tuning needs to be done if you want to remain successful.
Rob I really don't want to continue this thread but you've made some pretty broad assumptions.

First off, Dave did get a reduction in the price.
Second, he never mentioned that the price was high during the transaction nor has he mentioned it since (except in this thread). Had he brought it to my attention in a civilized fashion then I would have been glad to work it out with him. Third, he can NOT get the same product for cheaper. He can get a similar product but not this exact one. The reason mine is more expensive is because I had to import it from Europe and it functions differently. (if only slightly)

He needed this product in a hurry and bought it from me rather than getting it through the US because I could get it to him faster.

Remember, there are 2 sides to every story and you based your criticism on his alone. It's more than obvious that he has a personal grudge with me yet you took what he posted at face value and then decided to cast judgement on me. That doesn't seem very fair, now does it?

Oh, and for you to say that *I* was the one that brought this to lite is a bit of a stretch. I was just pointing out the fact that he bashes online stores yet he chose to do business with me.

He's the one that turned it in to a post about how I ripped him off.

He was the one that made the details of our transaction public.

Jordy, I think it is good that you brought your side of the story to light, I am not casting judgement at all, actually I am a extremely tolerant and level headed person. Ask yourself this question, what if Dave could get the same product cheaper, is your price you gave him still good or was he still overcharged? I understand the value in paying for shipping charges etc., that is something that as a business person I will understand more than anything else, as any business person would.

Dave, if what Jordy is saying about needing the product in a hurry, that is unfortunatley the price we must pay some times. We all have had the circumstance of paying too much for something in short supply when we need it, be it a port tube or a Mazda Miata.

I think the big issue here is how the transaction was handled. To me it still seems as though there are pieces of the puzzle missing from both sides. Matlock would be able to figure this one out, until then you guys need to get on with things, work it out and give Trunk back his thread.

Trunk works for my competition, so I don't think it would be in my best interest to train another one of their installers.

since when did needing something quick mean you should have to pay more. i dont charge more to put in a deck for a guy that shows up at 4:45 on a saturday

there are no pieces missing, i needed it quick, he had it and i paid the price, however high it was, for it. the transaction was smooth and got the stuff right away. i never said anything about anything except the price was double, and the double doesnt include shipping
See, now we're just arguing semantics. To explain the difference. The 4" ports you can get elsewhere use a separate collar to join them together. The ones I sell don't have that extra piece because they're made by a different company.

I never said you had to pay more because you needed it quickly, just that you did because I had them available. (the increased cost wasn't because you needed them quickly, just the fact that you chose to go with mine)

Y'know what Dave? I'm seriously tired of fighting with you. Even though I wish you would have brought this up in private I DO want to make sure everyone gets what they pay for and is happy with their transaction. With that I've just refunded a little more than the 50% you said you overpaid.

Please let me know (via PM) if there are problems with the transaction not appearing on your CC.

As I've already mentioned, I don't have the powers to close this thread. I mod the SPL, Eastern, For Sale, and Off Topic sections. (You can read the list of names at the top of each section)

If you think it tells a story, that's fine. A simple 'thanks' might have worked, but I guess you're still out to hate me even if I do try and make ammends. I think that tells a bigger story

Let's give Trunkmonkey back his thread. I can just see him getting home from work today to read all this drivel.

I am not sure but does anyone know about the School in Coquitlam? Is it still there? I think it was called "Installer's Choice". I could be very wrong.

Or maybe just call Tim @ Hzemall and tell him you will work for free for a month, he'll teach you a thing or two (and maybe you will pick up some car audio knowledge too ).
