i don't think 150.00 will get you much of a kick panel pod. Try looking for a used one on ebay.

Those q-forms look pretty good for the price.

yes they do.. actually i was looking at those for my '94 cav as well a few months ago... but someone brought up that they look like they are firing up under the dash. do you guys think that is an issue with those particular q-forms? what do ya's think?

I have a set of q-forms and would not recommend them. In my case, and I'm not sure that this is the case all of the time, they weren't aimed ideally (more at each other than where they needed to be aimed) and they resonated pretty bad. Better to spend the added bank and get something you'll like out of the gate IMHO.

personally (sorry for hijacking your thread thuggish) i like a system that sounds good. but i'm not really hardcore about it. i.e i dont use EQ's or processors or anything other than what my deck has. if q-forms are deadened with alot of deadener would they make a noticable difference in the amount they will resonate? being a guy that doesnt use any aftermarket EQ would i notice a huge difference in how they are aimed? i dont know.

also i belive Smartass told me once that he has access to q-forms. i am not sure on his price ranges or even if he can still get them... but he can elaborate on it if he reads this. buying from a Canadian dealer might save on some cross-border duties maybe.
anyway if the above mentioned http://www.cardomain.com/item/QLCQLK1008B13 could be deadened or made to resonate not so much, they could be an option. as of right now i have no mids installed, just a set of tweeters off of a crossover but right now ANYHING would sound better than what i have right now..

hope you find a set you like, Thuggish.
thanks guys

I tried to deaden mine without luck using brown bread. I did not try to fiberglass the underside, which may have worked, since I wasn't satisfied with the way they were aimed I didn't bother. Now keep in mind I was using them in a Toyota Tacoma, which may be different from your application. In addition, I was using AVI drivers which are relatively obscure drivers out east, so that may change how the q-forms react also. I guess what I'm saying is you can give 'em a try. If you don't like 'em you can always ebay 'em. On the other hand, if you have access to a workplace, and are willing to put in some sweat equity, and like to work with your hands you would be better served in the long run learning how to fiberglass and do it yourself with the added bonus of saving some bank.

Good luck.
