Did anyone go 2002? How long did it take to get there? How much was the Hotel/Motel? Was it fun? How much was spectator Admission? As a spectator would there be a lot to see or are you blocked off from seeing anything good like booths and competitors cars?

I was there in 2001 and 2002, and am scheduled to return once more this year..
The drive is closer to 18 hours from Toronto than 8 hours..
There is a ton for spectators to see. They can enjoy the manufacturers booths, walk around the pit areas and talk to the competitors and of course, watch the action from the stands.. It's a great event!

Wow! ShockingCanada do you have a hybrid with a bathroom or something to go 13 hours straight? LOL Just Kidding! Thanks for the exact driving time it helps.
Bret B enjoy the drive if you are going. Good luck too, hope to see you there?
Now the only big question I had was how easy is it to find a hotel/motel? I'm under the impression it's going to be anywhere between $40 to $120 per night. Personally I don't care how much it cost as long as I go to the finals. I went to a website of Nashville hotels and tried to make reservations and they said they were booked for that weekend. I don't trust travel websites anyway.

Something else to consider, you can get a round trip flight out of buffalo for just over 300 Canadian, and it's a 2-hour flight. You can rip down after work thursday and come back monday morning and not miss much here at home... I am considering that as an option..
Oh, and it's $400 out of Toronto...
