Ahhhh, bigred, your the man. You are right, I will make a smaller box. But I need my spare tire in the back again. That is why I want to go back to one woofer. MY PLANS WERE GREAT UNTIL ORION F'ED UP AND SENT ME THE WRONG SUBWOOFER! My last box set up with the orion was perfect. I don't know if I will be able to fit two 15"s between the window and the spare tire. Will sq be damaged if I have the subs are sitting more towards the passangers side? I hope I can squeeze them in. I will draw up what I am thinking and see what you guys think.

I don't agree with you Jordy and it's fine that we don't agree as well. 1200w rms for full tilt all the time on a sub that is designed to 600w rms (the current model DD2512) is just not a good idea. While the sub may handle it in bursts, under sustained use the thermal barrier will indeed be broken. End result is the customer buying a new sub. In all cases of a subs coil melting, it is too much power, be it clipped or clean. Break the thermal barrier and it is all over. With the power he has listed as 1200w rms, he is far better off finding a sub that can handle that much or more, like the DD3512 which is rated to 1200w rms.

I definitely see where you're coming from.

I'd have no worries about putting that sort of a setup in my own car, but probably wouldn't for a customer.

I guess we can agree to disagree though. :smilie_da
