Dead YellowTop Battery

Got a new Optima YellowTop 34 last August. I put my 06 SS in the garage for the winter on December 1st. The plan was to run it ever few weeks. After 3 weeks it started just fine. Stereo worked great! One week later it was dead. I figured the stereo was drawing power so i disconnected the main fuse. I made sure it was fully charged. Again 2 weeks later it was dead. Now it won't even last 1 week. There shouldn't be anything drawing power but the alarm. Does OnStar draw power when the car is off?
Has anyone else had a problem with a yellowTop? Should I take it back? Will they exchange it? It came from Costco.
Any input would be appriciated. Getting out the booster cables every 2 weeks is a pain.

batteries been compromised sounds like it got down to 9 volts?

once you've killed it a couple times its deep cycle capacity decreases

yes something is killing it ...the alarm is part of it, any microprocessor devices in the car is also part of it

Take it back under warranty

Those batteries should have at least a 3-4 year warranty from Costco directly.

Even with minimal current draw (onstar or whatever) there should be no way it would kill the battery in a week.

You say the first time you tried was after 3 weeks and it started fine. Now it wont hold a charge for two weeks. Have you checked the current draw with the engine off? Maybe something in the car is faulty? It's possible the battery is permanently affected but a new one will suffer the same fate if there is a problem.

Costco has a 2 year warranty on Yellow-tops. Take a receipt though they are super strict on that.

Lorco has Yellow tops going on sale in April.

Also consider a battery tender for vehicles being stored for the winter.
