Deck with best MP3 navigation
#1
I am all about the MP3's in my vehicle. Sure the quality isn't as good as original of course, but I think its good enough for the quantity you get from the format on one CD.
I was wondering everyones opinion on decks with great MP3/folder navigation.
I hate having to click through each file like a 130 track CD or something, its rediculous.
I know the new Alpines have a good system. What about Pioneer, Kenwood, Panasonic, Clarion or any others?
This is probably the biggest factor for me in chosing a new deck, second to having quick and feature rich bass control.

As far as Pioneer goes, the DEH-P7700MP/DEH-P770MP & DEH-P80MP/DEH-P8MP have the seven-way rotary commander which allows you to search files & folders.
Once a disc is inserted, all you do is hit the "list" button & your list of folders appear on the screen, then rotate the commander left or right to scroll through the folder choices. When you've found the folder you want, press the commander & away you go! It's the same steps for files (tracks) as well & this all works while a current track is playing!
Bass management is also very good with both these units (especially with the DEH-P7700MP/DEH-P770MP). All models have triple pre-outs (minumum four volts output on all but the DEH-P7700MP), all have built-in crossovers & parametic EQ & the DEH-P7700MP/DEH-P770MP has a dedicated subwoofer control button right on the faceplate.
Hope this helps!

My Kenwood will play almost anything I give it... My DVD player won't, but the Kenwood will. And it runs them through all the filters so even poor ones sound pretty darn good, and good ones sound great.
There is something to be said about Kenwood reliability though
Get an Ipod and a HU with IPod control. I bet that'd be the best setup.

I love my 9833. The direct track entry is not an issue for me since I think it takes my attention of the road for too long. I just skip ahead with the remote which works fine and I can keep my eyes where they belong. I've found that putting more than 50 tracks per disc creates the search problem, so i keep the number of tracks in that range. This also allows me to burn them using WMA at 320kbs which sounds identical to the original, at least to me it does.

sorry to steal this post or ask my own questions here.....but on the topic of mp3 decks....do any of them when searchng for a song display more than one song at a time???
With be nice if they made a deck that displayed like 3 songs at once (displays are big enough it could probably be done). Then if you were able to scroll thru them faster (faster than the rotary dial of my 7894 anyways) it'd be awesome!
Do they already make this?
