Cool

Ok, I have 350 bucks on my moms Visa, for a new deck for moi!

I have 8 finalists. (All are at futureshop)

Kenwood KDC-519

I like this one because it has the D-MASK motorized face, as well as a security code.

Pioneer DEH-P3500

I like this one because it has subwoofer controls, and is all around cool.

Rockford RFX9020

I like this one because it has a subwoofer preout, has all the right stuff, however, it doesn't say that it has a detachable face, just says 'mechanical'.

Panasonic CQDF383 MP3

I like this one because it plays MP3's and WMA's. I'm concerned of the low price though.

*edit* i found more mp3/cd players....

Panasonic CQDF583 MP3
Panasonic CQDF383 MP3
Kenwood KDC-MP522 MP3
Pioneer DEH-P4500MP

Well, I am making this decision tomorrow so any advice towards these decks would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks.

If mp3 capatibility is something you will use in the future put that on your list. If you're going to run amps get one with as many preouts as possible and a high preout voltage. If you want a mechanical face put that on the list. Changer controls? On the list. Detachable face.....on the list......etc.
When you're done the list, match it up to the deck that fills all the criteria.

No thanks deadlywhispers.. I'd like a brand new one with a warranty, plus extended warranty

MP3 isn't a big concern, I just thought it'd be cool to have. But, For that price, I think they might have focused on the mp3 and be lacking on other significant features.. sooooo.. I guess I'm going to look at just CD players.

Once you get an mp3 player, you'll wonder how you ever did without it. Thats if you listen to you music for long periods of time. Not to mention that if your cd's get stolen, you'll only loose the mp3 cd-r's, not the actually cd itself. It happened to me.

I hade the Panasonic CQDF583 MP3, but the on just above it with 3 pre-outs, and I was impressed.

My deck plays mp3s. I tried 1 mp3 disc to see how it worked, and I haven't used an mp3 cd since. How you feel about mp3 is how I feel about satellite radio. I am very glad I have that now(and don't see me ever losing it)...unless both companies just fold.

ok, I think I've decided which deck to get.

Pioneer DEH-P3500

It has everything I want. Detachable face, flip down face, sub controls, clock, mute, crossovers for front and/or backspeakers, also with separate bass/treble for front/back speakers

If anyone's had experience with this deck, let me know!

This would be my choice: http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...d=&newdeptid=9 I believe it has a built in LPF, 25x4 rms, 40x4 peak, two 2.3 volt, 100 ohm outputs, and a decent price. Personally, I don't dig the Pioneer eq crap that most of them seem to have, all I want is bass and treble, not presets, and boosting certain frequencies. For the $80 you save by buying the Rockford, you can pick up a line driver, or a crossover/line driver to filter your front speakers, too. My .02 cents.....

I am on my second Pioneer deck, my first one was stolen and I just got the 5500. Its an awesome deck. Pretty much the same one as you picked, just plays MP3's.

You made a great choice
