Deck Skipping

You have one of a couple of issues. One is too secure a mount in the dash and all the energy in the vehicle is landing smack in the cd player. Second is that the cd player is not mounted secure enough and is flapping around like a wet fart. Third is that there is a resonant frequency issue with the laser sled. If the bass hits a certain frequency with enough amplitude, it causes the laser sled to skip worse than two little girls with a rope. Take the cd player out of the dash and if you can, put it on the seat and see how it performs.

Quite an educational comment Rob - keep it up! Just want to add a suggestion in case you decided to replace the head unit, look for something with a buffer - it would help.

You should be running everything off your ipod lol.. Its god, The thing won't skip at certain frequencies like cd's do

And I heard nothing but crap things about that jvc deck.. remember thats its a jvc deck From alpine to jvc.. never heard of such a thing. Ipod is the way to go though..
