Power wise it really don't affect output just helps in getting the optimum load on the amplifier and keeping the amplifier in a load range at its peak power gives optimal power output provided the subwoofers are capable of handling the power and that the gains are set properly, If you are unsure how to properly set gains make sure to take to a local shop and get them and deck set properly, it wont cost much and your equipment should live a long life.

run the coils in series and the subs paralell, I remember reading this to be the best way, though would appreciate an elaboration as to why this is so. Thats how I have my 2 dual 2's wired.
